Wolf Dens on the Prowl!
What is it like to be a wolf scout? Life is good! Wolves are second graders.
Some of them have been in scouts for a year as Tigers, but many are in their
first year. The wolf book is a little harder than the tiger book -- you have to
work a little more to earn that rank badge. But wolf scouts are ready for a
little more challenge, so it's OK.
Wolf scouts start working on taking care of the world around them. They do clean
up projects in the neighborhood, learn what happens to the trash, and how to
take better care of our environment. They begin to learn about the proper care
and respect for our flag. They learn more about leadership, and safety. And of
course, there is family time and lots of fun built into the program.
Best of all, most wolf scouts are ready to try camping! There are day camps and
overnight camps sponsored through the council. There is a pack family campout in
June, and a winter cabin campout in February, for overnight bonding with the
boys of the pack. Camping brings lots of safe opportunities for growth for boys.
Check it out!
